Ahwazi activist died under torture

According to Ahwaz News website, the Ahwazi activist “Reza Maghamsy” from Dezful town was
killed under torture on Wednesday 23rd of March in a secret prison in Ahwaz. He died as a

consequence of the severe blows on his pelvis and internal bleeding. Moreover, another activist, “Hadi Rashedi”, who has been arrested in recent days, is in a critical situation as a result of

continuous torture. He has been hospitalized and currently is unconscious.

Besides, during the last few days, “Ramadan Khaledi”, the son of Karim, a 36 year old Ahwazi social activist of residents of “Ramys”, a village located on the road between Ahwaz – Mashur, was arrested by security forces. He was arrested because he objected to the pollution of his village caused by the soot coming from the oil wells and the fact that the oil company does not hire the youth from this village. In this Arab village, dozens of people have caught dangerous respiratory diseases because of breathing the smoke coming from the oil wells.

It is worth mentioning that during the last few days about 234 of Ahwazi Arab cultural and social activists from various cities of the province have been arrested, 35 of whom having been transferred to unknown locations.
