Surprise execution of Ahwazi in Isfahan

An Ahwazi activist arrested five years ago was executed on 9 October with little warning, according to the Democratic Solidarity Party of Al-Ahwaz
(DSPA).
Saeed Loweimi, 35, was transferred from Karoon Prison to Isfahan the day before he was hanged. Loweimi had been politically active, but was not thought to be among those at imminent risk of execution. Nothing is known of the charges against him or when he was convicted.
Ahwazi sources believe he was transferred hundreds of miles from Ahwaz City due to fear of another uprising among indigenous Ahwazi Arabs.
Several Ahwazis are at imminent risk of execution. This week the Ahwaz News Agency revealed that Press TV was planning to broadcast forced confessions of at least three Ahwazi political prisoners in November, an indication that their executions are being planned ahead of their appeals.
