Ahwazi Democratic Solidarity Party Participates in the Fourth Congress of the Left Party of Iran and Endorses a Democratic and Federal Republic
The Fourth Congress of the Left Party of Iran was held on May 30–31, 2025, in Cologne, Germany, with broad participation from representatives of leftist, republican, and democratic political forces, as well as delegates from various ethnic and national communities of Iran.
During the congress, the party’s political documents and reports were approved by the majority of attendees. For the first time, the congress explicitly endorsed the establishment of a democratic and federal republic as the future political system of Iran. It also confirmed the necessity of cooperation with republican and ethnically representative political organizations as a strategic pillar of the party’s future direction.
Mr. Yasin Ahwazi, a member of the Central Committee of the Ahwazi Democratic Solidarity Party, officially represented the party at the congress. He took part in the deliberations and communicated the party’s positions and perspectives throughout the sessions.
In a congratulatory message addressed to the congress, the Political Committee of the Ahwazi Democratic Solidarity Party emphasized the importance of joint struggle for democracy, secularism, and federalism in Iran.
Part of the message reads:
“Given Iran’s ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity, only a federal system based on the voluntary union of nations can guarantee equal rights for all citizens.”
The party—an active member of both the Congress of Nationalities for a Federal Iran and the Comprehensive Coalition for Freedom and Equality in Iran—also stressed the need for real and practical cooperation among republican and democratic forces, beyond mere rhetoric, to confront the repressive regime in Iran.
In conclusion, the Ahwazi Democratic Solidarity Party reiterated its commitment to building strong alliances with other democratic opposition forces and expressed hope for a future in which all peoples of Iran will live in freedom, equality, and federal unity
