Active Participation of the Ahwaz Democratic Solidarity Party in the Conference of Federal Nations of Iran in Frankfurt

Frankfurt – Saturday, May 30, 2025

On Saturday, May 30, a high-level delegation from the Ahwaz Democratic Solidarity Party (ADSP) participated in the Conference of Federal Nations of Iran, held in Frankfurt, Germany, under the title: “The Role of the Conference in the Coming Changes in Iran.” The event saw the attendance of representatives from various political parties and organizations representing non-Persian nations in Iran.

During the first session of the conference, titled “Diversity in Iran: Importance and Possibility – The Role of the Conference of Federal Nations of Iran,” Mr. Wijdan Abdulrahman, a member of the Political Bureau of ADSP, delivered a keynote speech outlining the party’s vision for Iran’s future and the transition toward a democratic and federal system.

In his address, Abdulrahman emphasized that joint meetings between the oppressed nations in Iran are not only a political necessity but a historic one — essential for rethinking the path to freedom, justice, and a redefined Iran built on pluralism and equality. He criticized the long-standing centralist and exclusionary structure of power in Tehran, which has perpetuated ethnic and cultural oppression.

He stressed that meaningful transformation in Iran is impossible without recognizing its national and cultural diversity. A genuine federalism — not symbolic or decorative — based on the principle of the right to self-determination is, according to Abdulrahman, the only sustainable path to a just future for all.

Referencing the recent popular uprisings under the slogan “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (Woman, Life, Freedom), he noted that Iranian society has reached political maturity. However, he argued that real revolution and transition require two foundational pillars:

1. A collective political consciousness built on dialogue and recognition of historical injustices,

2. A clear roadmap in which all nations have equal and decisive participation.

Abdulrahman concluded by reaffirming the Ahwaz Democratic Solidarity Party’s commitment to democracy, social justice, and true federalism, and called for building a new Iran based on a modern social contract that centers humanity and liberty. He envisioned a future where diversity is seen not as a threat but as a shared asset, and where the nations of Iran live with one another, for one another, not in domination over one another.

The session was marked by active participation from attendees, with open discussions and questions exploring the political and human rights dimensions of the topics raised
