Statement of the Democratic Solidarity Party of Ahwaz (DSPA)
Regarding the Execution of Six Ahwazi Arab Political Prisoners in Sepidar Prison, Ahwaz
The Democratic Solidarity Party of Ahwaz (DSPA) strongly condemns the unjust execution of six Ahwazi Arab political and civil prisoners in Sepidar Prison in the city of Ahwaz, carried out at dawn on Saturday, 12 Mehr 1404 (October 4, 2025), following years of detention, torture, and severe psychological and physical suffering.
These six brave activists were arrested in 2018 and 2019 on fabricated and baseless charges. They were denied the right to legal defense, deprived of fair trials, and prevented from meeting their families or appointing independent lawyers.
The names of the executed prisoners are:
Mr. Seyed Salem Mousavi, Mohammad Reza Moghaddam, Ali Mojdam, Moein Khanfari, Habib Dris, and Adnan Al-Boushouka (Ghabishawi).
According to credible reports received by the Party, these detainees were subjected to the most brutal forms of physical and psychological torture during their imprisonment, leading to chronic kidney and heart diseases, severe back pain, and psychological trauma due to continuous torture. Last week, they were secretly transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their execution, without any prior notice to their families.
The Democratic Solidarity Party of Ahwaz (DSPA) affirms that this heinous act constitutes a flagrant violation of international human rights conventions, particularly the right to life and the right to a fair trial. It also reflects the systematic repressive policies pursued by the Iranian regime against the Arab people of Ahwaz.
The Party calls upon the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and Ms. Mai Sato, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Iran, to take urgent action to investigate this crime and to exert maximum pressure on the Iranian regime to end the ongoing political and ethnic executions in the country.
The Democratic Solidarity Party of Ahwaz (DSPA) reiterates its unwavering commitment to defending the legitimate national and human rights of the Ahwazi Arab people and calls on all human rights organizations, political parties, and democratic forces around the world to condemn this atrocity and stand in solidarity with the victims of repression in Iran.
Long live the struggle of our Ahwazi Arab people of Ahwaz.
Peace be upon the souls of our righteous martyrs.
