Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran is more of a danger to the world than the Islamic State (ISIL).
“Make no mistake, ISIL must be defeated,” Netanyahu said in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly. “But to defeat ISIS and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear power is to win the battle and lose the war.”
“Iran’s nuclear military capabilities must be fully dismantled,” he said.
Israel seems to view Iran as the greatest threat to its existence, and has been the loudest voice in calling for aggressive diplomatic tactics towards Iran by the international community, particularly in regards to its nuclear programme.
“Once Iran produces atomic bombs all the charms, and all the smiles will suddenly disappear,” Netanyahu said. “And it’s then that the ayatollahs will show their true face and unleash their aggressive fanaticism on the entire world.”
“There is only one responsible course of action to address this threat. Iran’s nuclear military capabilities must be fully dismantled. Make no mistake. ISIS must be defeated. But to defeat ISIS and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear power is to win the battle and lose the war.”
