This Saturday morning, May 6th, the freedom fighter and justice seeker for the Arab nation of Ahwaz, Habib Farajullah Chaab, known as Habib Asyod, the former head of the “Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Al-Ahwaz” was executed by the Islamic Republic regime of Iran.
This Ahwazi Arab, Swedish citizen, was kidnapped from Turkey and transferred to Iran, on a betrayal plan with the help of a criminal drug gang on October 9, 2020.
During his detention, he was deprived of a fair investigation and trial without presence of an attorney. This oppressive and unfair trial led to his death sentence, which was actually a pre-planned murder.
The Tehran regime, deprived Habib Asyod from all his human rights and accused him of charges, attack a military parade in Ahvaz on Saturday 22nd September 2018, that previously had been accepted by ISIS. As a result, one of the major accusations in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s court against Habib Chaab, which justified his death sentence, can not be the basis for the trial and death sentence against Habib Chaab due to the affiliation of the attackers to ISIS.
This is how Habib Chaab joined the many martyrs of Ahwazi Arabs who fought for the rights of their oppressed nation and other oppressed nations in Iran and put another stain on the forehead of oppression and injustice.
Execution has never stopped determined freedom fighters from continuing their path to bring a bright future full of justice, equality and national rights, and will not stop them.
The Democratic Solidarity Party of Al-Ahwaz, while condemning the cruel murder of Habib Asyod as one of the victims of the Islamic Republic’s diplomatic hostage policy, calls on the international community, especially the European Union and Sweden, to take a firm and unified position against Tehran.
