The Democratic Solidarity Party of Al-Ahwaz (DSPA) stands in solidarity with black people worldwide in the fight against racism and injustice.
Ahwazi Arabs, as well as other non-Persian ethnic groups in Iran, have suffered from racial discrimination at the hands of different regimes for decades. We stand with black people everywhere as we all fight racism in Iran, the US, and everywhere else.
Additionally, we vow to address racism and anti-black attitudes in our own communities.
The Iranian regime has been politicising the struggle of black people to further its political agenda against the US. The Islamic Republic has a tendency to exploit just causes for its own agendas, with the Palestinian cause being a prime example of this. We reiterate that Iran is not in a position to speak on racism anywhere, given its oppression of ethnic groups at home. The Iranian regime’s tears for George Floyd are crocodile tears.
